Do you want the experience of working with two iconic venues to programme and produce music events for young people?
Town Hall Symphony Hall is looking for a core group of ten young people aged 16-21yrs from Birmingham to be part of the Sound Lounge 21 Project.
Over 11 months you will be skilled up by industry professionals and develop expertise in programming, producing, leadership, event management, marketing and digital media. Plus work towards gaining a Gold Arts Award qualification, which is equivalent to 35 ucas points.
Working as a team from your base in Symphony Hall’s Patrick & Multimedia studio you will pilot your own events for young people alongside our established programmes: Folk for Free, Rush Hour Blues and Musical Picnic on our foyers at Symphony Hall. You will manage budgets, develop ideas and projects, fundraise and become ambassadors for one of the city’s largest music venues.
This is a long-term commitment over 11 months with regular fortnightly meetings on Thursdays and some extra sessions in academic holidays. The project will end in August 2013.

You must be an Ideas Tap member aged between 16yrs-21yrs living in Birmingham and available to attend an open interview workshop on 24th September. You can be a school or college student, unemployed or at university but must be able to travel to Birmingham city centre for regular meetings.
